Jennifer Gebhart
Jennifer Gebhart, who has always been interested in the marvels of the human body, became interested in yoga for its physical and mental benefits and began practicing in 2000. She loves the way yoga calms her anxious mind—when she’s on the mat, her mind settles and focuses on the present moment. She completed the 200-hour Teacher Training Program at Yoga on High in 2003 and has been teaching ever since. She has also studied with Rodney Yee, Elise Browning Miller and Dr. Sandra McLanahan and continues to take workshops to further her skills.
Jennifer teaches the Hatha style of yoga with an emphasis on alignment. She currently teaches yoga for Multiple Sclerosis, Prenatal Yoga, Mommy and Baby Yoga and private classes. She also shares her teaching experiences in Yoga on High’s Therapeutic and Prenatal Teacher Training programs. Her interest in helping pregnant and postpartum women comes, in part, from her own experiences during pregnancy and delivery. She truly felt great during her entire pregnancy and was able to listen to her body by slowing down her practice, which allowed her to bond with her baby in utero. She uses yoga in her everyday life to be a more mindful parent and to stay calm in this crazy world.
Jennifer’s goals as a teacher are to help her students find peace and balance in their lives as well as to help them learn more about their bodies. She believes yoga can benefit most people in very practical ways, both physically and mentally. Jennifer is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance.
