Be a Karma Ambassador

We’re inviting you to join the Foundation Family as Karma Yoga Foundation Ambassador!

Join us in spreading the vibe of the community, the Foundation and living some karma yoga. Cool, right? Here’s how it works…we’ve just received a shipment of some awesome little cards…they're the size of a business card, but folded over (officially they’re called tent cards.) These act as calling cards in everyone’s karma yoga adventures. Printed on the outside is the foundation logo and your title “Yoga on High Foundation Ambassador”, on the back, a description of karma yoga, and on the inside space to write a note and the words “Pay It Forward”.

The plan is that as a Karma Yogi Ambassador, you will take your yoga off the mat and into the world with Random Acts of Kindness and Pay It Forward type deeds. When you’ve done these things, you can leave these little cards with a note in them for the recipient to find. Examples could be – paying for the car behind you at the coffee shop & you hand this card to the cashier to give the people…or you write a note in the card “You’re Beautiful” and leave it in a random coat pocket…or you pay someone’s parking meter and leave the note under their windshield, or stick a free class pass in one and put it in a book at the library…there are a million ways to pay it forward and we’re hoping to inspire creativity and kindness all over the place.  Share your ideas and your acts of Karma Kindness with us #yogaonhighfoundation #spreadthelove #bethelight #loveinaction

Here are some ideas:

  • You can pick up the cards at the front desk of the studio – they’re absolutely free. And if you don’t have a card, don’t let that stop you – have fun & spread the love!

  • Ride the bus or the train? Pay for the ride for the person behind you.

  • On a rainy day, buy a few umbrellas and pass them out to those who are without one.

  • Pull weeds for your neighbor.

  • Bake for your children’s teachers.

  • Get a bunch of people who all travel for work and stay at lots of hotels to donate the free soap, shampoo and conditioner towards a group that would benefit

  • Do chores at home to help family members.

  • Write someone a card just to tell them that they are loved.

  • Clean out all your old clothes and donate them to someone in need. Your old is someone else’s new.

  • Check up on someone who looks lonely

  • Write a positive Yelp review about a local business you like.

  • Replace what you’ve used. For example, fill up the copier or printer with paper after you’re done using it or start a fresh batch of coffee.

  • Give words of encouragement to someone about their dreams, no matter how big or small they are.

  • Stop and buy a drink from a kid’s lemonade stand.

  • Help someone get your parking space in a crowded parking lot when you’re leaving.

  • Babysit for couples or single parents who don’t get out much so they can have some alone time.

  • Be a courteous driver. Let people merge in front of you.

  • Listen to someone’s pain and help them find a path through it.

  • Hug a friend. Let them know how important they are.

  • Send someone a text message just to say that you are thinking of them

  • If you have a good book you’ve read that’s just sitting around on a book shelf, give it away to a friend.

  • Clean up litter in a park or open space nearby.

  • If you see a couple taking a self-pic, offer to take the picture for them.

  • Donate to an animal shelter. Call and ask what is needed.

  • Compliment someone who deserves it.

  • Take the time to teach someone a skill you know.
